F/u w/ doc: Don't start smoking! If this is caused by particles of dust in the environment, I think of fungi or other organisms, especially with the weird taste you mentioned. This needs to be evaluated by your doc so that he can see you throat and poss your sinuses and do some cultures.

Weird taste: You need 2 evaluations. Please see your General Practitioner to evaluate for upper respiratory infection which is usually treated with medications. But examination/imaging/lab tests required to determined the appropriate medication. Yo0u also need to see a Dentist to make sure that your upper back teeth are not contributing to your symptoms.
