Fluid in ear: Fluid or pressure can build in the ear, especially when the eustachian tube gets blocked from swelling in the throat. This can make things sound strange. Coughing can momentarily raise the pressure in your head and cause pain. See your doctor to determine if you need antibiotics for a bacterial infection or if you have a virus and just need chicken soup and rest.
