Had thyroid lobe removed 3/10/2014. since then tsh has increased from 2.89 to 4.56. ft4 has been stable. do i need to be on synthroid (thyroxine)?

Not now, but you: need to be monitored to make sure that TSH and FT4 remain within normal limits. Do not be surprised if your doctor suggests synthyroid due to rising TSH. Being on this medication will not do any harm, but once again you will need to be monitored.
