Rabies in cats: Cats infected with the rabies virus can go through three stages. In the first stage, the cat may have fever, drool and itch the site of the bite. The second phase which occurs on the second or third day is the furious stage where the cat's behavior becomes erratic. The third phase is the paralytic stage where the cat becomes paralyzed and dies
