Sertraline starts?: Sertraline, an SSRI, is used to treat major depression. Some patients experience slight improvement in mood or anxiety within days of starting SSRI tx. The full effects of the medication may not be seen for up to 8 weeks. See your doc frequently when you are first starting medication for depression and contact your doc right away if symptoms worsen, instead of improving. Feel better soon!

3-4 weeks. : SSRI s such as sett alone (Zoloft) will take at least 3-4 weeks to have any effect on your mood ... They must be taken at least for a period of 6 months and then sliwly tapered down once symptoms improve ...
