Poor digestion: Bits of undigested food in the stool is most likely related to increased motility in the bowels, and a disruption of the normal digestive process by whatever is causing the diarrhea. The 'BRAT' diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast and the like) are foods recommended during bouts of diarrhea because they help bind the stool and are easier to digest.
