Nightshades: In some people, foods from the nightshade family (eggplant, tomatoes, potatoes [not yams or sweet potatoes, which come from other plant families], etc) are pro-inflammatory. They contain components which can irritate your digestive system, producing diarrhea. Also this can contribute to the junctions between cells lining your GI system becoming "leaky" and leading to additional problems.
