Yes: Compression neuropathy of the pelvic and lumbar nerves may occur during pregnancy and delivery. These causes are usually transient. Nerve injury by spinal anesthetic is not rare. The peroneal nerve near the lateral knee is often compressed by leg positioning on an obstetrical table. Nutritional deficiency-associated neuropathy during pregancy can be prevented by prenatal vitamins.
