Do doctors ask their patients about their past and present and hereditary "liver health" before prescribing isotretinoin (roaccutane)?

Yes, they should.: Doctors should be asking their patients about all of their medical history and family medical history before prescribing any medications. Since Isotretinioin can cause liver toxicity, that should definitely be part of the history obtained.
