Antipsychotics: Somone suffering from a mental illness causing hallucinations would often be prescribed antipsychotics. But, this person should have a thorough evaluation as many medical conditions can also cause hallucinations.

Antipsychotics: But psychosis is only a symptom. The cause of the psychosis should be determined so that the cause can be treated. That usually means a thorough physical and mental evaluation. Start with your family doc.
