Be VERY VERY FAT.: You need to burn off more calories than you take in to lose weight. weight in POUNDS x 10 is the number of calories you lose in a day not doing anything. 100-600 calories per hour is the amount wiht exercise (an xtra 4000 needed for 8 hrs of olympic training) 4000 cal = 1 lb, 9000 for a kg 45000 for 5k. 1500/day. 2.5 hr of olympic exercise or, a 1500 cal diet if you are 300 pounds.
