Why has my sprained ankle not healed yet even though it has been ten weeks and the x-ray said it was just a sprain and the hospital gave me no crutch?

Depends: how badly you sprained or tore the ligaments , ordinary X-rays may not show the soft tissue damage , if it is in USA , you already might have had MRI , when medicine is rationed as in UK , most likely done later if there is no improvement , although out comes become identical , except for anxiety .
