IBD Markers: No. These markers are not fool proof or provide 100% accuracy. Definitive diagnosis is arrived at by a variety of examinations/tests including but not limited to: colonoscopy with biopsies, endoscopy with or without biopsies, small intestine x-ray and capsule endoscopy or "pill camera." some GI specialists use the ibd serology to supplement the other tests but do not use them solely for diagnosis.
