Does an ibd serology that shows consistency with crohn's disease mean i have it?

IBD Markers: No. These markers are not fool proof or provide 100% accuracy. Definitive diagnosis is arrived at by a variety of examinations/tests including but not limited to: colonoscopy with biopsies, endoscopy with or without biopsies, small intestine x-ray and capsule endoscopy or "pill camera." some GI specialists use the ibd serology to supplement the other tests but do not use them solely for diagnosis.

Higher likelihood.: The serology panels are not meant to be diagnostic. They are generally used in confirmation of diagnosis, or to help clarify a case of inflammatory bowel disease that is indeterminate.
