Avoidance is best: The best approach is avoidance. If the rash is mild and localized over the counter steroid creams and antihistamines may be sufficient. More severe symptoms require a visit to the doctor for stronger steroid creams and possibly oral steroids. Antihistamines can help the itch. Expect it to take at least 2 weeks to clear.
