She has her ways !!: The female mosquitoes suck blood – the males do not. Thus the female's mouth is more specialized with a proboscis that touches our skin almost as soon as she lands. Her sharp mandibles & multiply bladed maxillae pierce the skin as she moves her head back and forth.
