A member asked:

Could biting my nails damage my teeth?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Biting your nails can damage your teeth. It can also break anterior fillings and ceramic crowns and veneers. The action of the nail biting put unusual stress and leverage that can be detrimental to the enamel of tooth. It does not seem like it would but I have seen numerous fractures from someone biting or chewing on something they should not have in mouth.
