What to do if i have high gamma glutamyl transferase(ggt)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on why: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, Elevated ggt is an indication of liver cell damage. The common causes are alcohol, viral infections and drugs. You need to consult your doctor to determine the cause and treat it accordingly. If you drink alcohol, stop entirely.
