Hereditary thyroid problems, what to do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Have regular checkup: If family members have thyroid problems, it is not automatic that you will. Also, of all the hereditary diseases that you could have, thyroid problems (hypo or hyper) are not all that bad and they should be readily treatable. See your doctor for regular checkups, including feeling your thyroid and thyroid blood tests, to catch anything early.
