Medical or dental...: There are several possibilities including but not limited to medications you are taking, dry mouth, allergy to restorative material or gum disease. It's important to review your medical and dental history leading up to your present condition. Speak with your physician and your dentist and if necessary get additional opinions.

Dysgeusia: is a change in your sense of taste and a metallic taste due to a variety of causes; from anxiety to dental problems to medications and treatments. Dysgeusia is not very common. Severe long-standing dysgeusia can be very significant as it may lead to patient losing interest in food. See your PCP for consultation, tests and referral if needed.
