Prescription Rx: I'm sorry your acne has not already been properly treated. Bad acne will require a physician's care. Ignore everything you're told about diet, lifestyle, hygiene, and "pop" / "natural" remedies. You may get a response to a systemic antibiotic plus topical benzoyl peroxide, or the oral contraceptive or spironolactone if you're a female. Isotretinoin is the big guns -- if offered, be brave.
