Versed for preop med: Versed is a relatively short-acting benzodiazepine with a rapid onset after administered intravenously. It is often given to patients to treat pre-operative anxiety. Benzodiazepines have sedative, hypnotic, amnestic-dissociative muscle relaxing, anticonvulsant and anxiolytic properties. It is not mandatory that you receive this medication. You may request that it be withheld.

Everyone is: different, some patients request general anesthesia for a LEEP. Versed is a nice drug, everyone gets anxious, most patients get a big smile after receiving it. it will also probably block your memory of the event.
