What to do if i have a counseling internship at hospice, what to expect?

Great experience: I did house calls and worked with hospice in my practice for years. It is difficult to deal with families losing a loved person. But it is very rewarding because hospice strives to help the family and patient cope with the transition from sick to very ill to death. And remember, it's ok to cry even you are the health care provider - we're only human!

What a wonderful: thing to do. Hospice work is a blessing for everyone but can put the worker at risk for burn out. You can experience gratitude, annoyance, grief, and loss. Family members will be involved and schedule may be erratic depending on the status of the person in need. Listen more than you speak and don't say you understand when you don't. Peace and good health.
