Can you tell me about giving birth to a baby that had cephalhematoma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Common finding: Occasionally a baby is born with a collection of blood under the scalp from veins that supply it from the underside. The pocket can be triggered by the trauma of traveling down the birth canal. The pocket creates enough pressure to stop the bleeding on its own. The process sometimes increases a risk of jaundice for newborns as the blood breaks down. It is a minor issue.
