Very reasonable test: The patient is positioned on table with nuclear camera usually positioned underneath. Via a vein the radiotracer usually Technetium 99m MAG3 is injected in a bolus while continuous imaging is being performed of the kidneys and bladder Sometimes lasix (furosemide) a diuretic is injected following the first phase of study to see if kidney might be obstructed. It generally is very easy low radiation test.
