Contractions.: It is not unusual to have contractions throughout pregnancy, but as long as they are not regular, they are usually not a problem. If you are dehydrated, you can have contractions. They usually don't do anything, but they can be uncomfortable. If you are having contractions or discomfort, you should first assume you are dehydrated. Lay down and drink a lot of water. If they don't stop, call your OB
