Venous thrombosis: Other than certain meds such as tamoxifen inducing venous thrombosis and embolization, chronic venous thrombosis from leg varicosities can cause venous embolization. Certain tumors such as pancreatic neoplasms are also related to hyercoagulability. A pelvic lesion obstructing veins can also cause embolization for which a VC umbrella should be inserted as well as anticoags.
