A member asked:

I saw a neurologist ,he did electric shock in my lymphadema arm,and wanted to put needles in to check neck for ddd i stopped him, was i right to do so?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends?: The "shocks" will allow on to determine if there is any damage of nerve in the arm. The needle assess nerve activity to the muscles. If all of the muscles in a myotome are abnormal, that is, they all share a common nerve root, then we know that nerve root is dysfunction and there may be a problem at the level of the neck (radiculopathy).
