A member asked:

How often does the virus causing mono reactivate in a person (but without symptoms)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rarely: A mono patient will occasionally shed virus for years after their initial infection. The "chronic fatigue" described by some is not reactivated mono. Since there is more than one cause of mono like illness, it is not rare for someone to have a similar illness again.
