Pityriasis rosea: Pityriasis rosea is a harmless skin problem. It usually begins as one big circular spot, called a "herald patch", followed by multiple small spots . It spreads widely with the pattern called a "Christmas-tree". The rash usually goes away on its own within six weeks. In case of itching, some patients could benefit from Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or corticosteroid cream.
