A member asked:

Do healthy individuals get bilateral shingles? i read that only people with aids or cancer get this, and that it is very rare

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: This can happen and I wouldn't worry if you are otherwise healthy. In fact, before the AIDS / chemotherapy era, there was a legend that if bilateral shingles touched in front, you would die. That was a total myth but shows it existed centuries ago.
