A member asked:

How does dr. determine fibromyalgia? i have strange pains constantly. can fibromyalgia cause visual disturbances?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Exclusion: Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion. After all other conditions causing that spectrum of symptoms are eliminated, fibromyalgia is what is left. Diagnoses are made using testing that is 'above' standard thresholds. Things below those thresholds, but which cause legitimate symptoms are what is left. Fibromyalgia does not affect the eyes although sufferers do have ey problems.
