See your doctor: There are a number of infections that can present as your describing--herpes, vaginitis, a yeast infection, or certainly bacterial infections and abscesses as well. Any of these would need treatment with antimicrobial drugs, and an abscess may need drainage. As much as home remedies are nice at times, it would be potentially dangerous to delay appropriate treatment. Contact a gynecologist soon.

Possible herpes: The most likely cause of painful bumps in the vaginal areas is herpes. The bump could also be from vaginal irritation from yeast infection or other vaginal infections like STD's. For any of the above, prescription medications is the remedy although there are over-the-counter remedies for yeast infection. Proper diagnosis is key before any treatment. Feel better.
