A member asked:

Accuracy of home pregnancy test 21 days after intercourse? or 31 days after? breastfeeding. no periods. spotted once. ovulation pains. light crampin.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Urine hcg: A pregnancy test depends upon the concentration of hcg, the pregnancy hormone, in urine. A negative test means the level of HCG is undetectable, but that can happen early in pregnancy. A positive test means pregnancy. Since you are breastfeeding, and are not having regular periods, you cannot rely on counting days if you are avoiding pregnancy. To prevent pregnancy, use birth control.
