Perhaps forever: This new cephalosporin is an antibiotic directed against bacterial pathogens, and most bronchitis is viral in etiology and antibiotics of any sort will be ineffective. If this is truly bacterial brochitis it is chronic, and stopping smoking and perhaps treating hemophilus will help (but Cefdinir should do this).
