I 131: Iodine 131 is used in the treatment of thyroid cancer. Technetium 99 is used to evaluate cardiac vessels and is probably the most commonly used radioisotope in medicine. Strontium 89 and samarium are used in the treatment of cancer related bone pain. There are many more.less commonly used agents.
