Depends: Blood clot 'risk' after fracture depends on many things; most important from an orthopedic perspective is where the fracture is: pelvic and hip fractures have the highest incidence of blood clot formation.Age, medical co- morbidities, activity level, and a host of other factors can increase the risk. Ask your surgeon and your internist for more details. Best of Luck!
