Ulcerative colitis: Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory disease of the colon. It usually presents as abdominal pain and diarrhea. It is usually treated with immunosuppressive therapy (steroid, immunoglobulins and others). Acute flares are usually treated with steroid and patients will often require a different medication to try to keep it in remission. Long term there is an increased risk of Colon CA.
