A member asked:

Please tell me if there are any cases where immuno-suppressants won't be needed for ulcerative colitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mild: Mild disease might be treated with 5-asa compounds instead of immunosuppressants. Additionally, limited disease (i.e. Disease limited to the left side of the colon) could be treated with oral 5-asa compounds or even enemas. So, you should have a conversation with your GI to determine what options are available to you.
