Depression: is cyclical. If I understand your question correctly, you were on SSRI's and stopped taking them. Whether your depression has come back or you are in withdrawal depends on how long it has been since you stopped the meds & what dose you were on, so no one can tell without exact info. Consult with the prescribing psychiatrist and figure out if the depression has simply reared it's head again or not

Stopping SSRI's: If you have been on SSRI antidepressants, you could get depressed when you stop the medication because in reality you still need it. If you stop the medication and feel fine, you may not need the medication. All of this should be done under the supervision of a doctor who can look out for any side effects and help get back on the medication if you need it. Therapy can also help.

Uncertain: Depressed mood can be a symptom of recurrence of depression, or it may be an SSRI discontinuation syndrome symptom if you stopped an SSRI.
