A member asked:

How are esterified vs conjugated estrogen different?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Different derivation: Esterified estrogens are synthetic plant derived (eg manufactured from soy beans) where as conjugated estrogens are blended estrogens from natural preparations (eg urine from pregnant mares) or synthetic derivatives of these natural preparations. Some studies have shown risk of blood clots may be less with esterified preparations but this is not definitive.
