What to expect for epidural misplacement or lidocaine toxicity?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. William Jenkins answered

Specializes in Anesthesiology

If the epidural: is placed too close to a vein and the local anesthetic enters you body you will feel anxious, tingling around mouth, ear fullness, which may progress to twitching, seizures, and to cardiac problems if progress. Medications are given in small amounts with tests to prevent this complication
