My grandmother, 72, has pulmonary edema. what causes this? this will remain forever? thanks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CHF most common: Hi. The most common cause of pulmonary edema is congestive heart failure, although many other causes are also possible (sepsis, ARDS, etc, etc). Her physician may be able to give you specific information on her case. It may be treatable, depending on the cause. Good luck to her!
