Stuttering in a 2-5: year-old can go away on its own, usually in less than 6 months. If it persists, it can hamper social communication & self-esteem, if not handled correctly. The causes & treatments of stuttering at various ages are found on http://www.asha.org/public/speech/disorders/stuttering.htm.
