AMblyopia: Amblyopia can cause blindness if not detected early .Depending on the cause, sometimes strabismus, inequality of refraction or obstruction of the visual axis, if not treated by opthalmologist before age 10 or 11 child can be blind. Depends: "the camera is turned off". Ambliopia is a poorly understood term the reflects the brain turning off a weaker eye if it sends a poor image . As a child grows, the eyes may develop different visual power, the eye muscles may begin to let one eye drift out of alignment, or another issue may change 1 eye more than the other. The earlier this is found & rxd the better chance to save vision.
