Can you tell me about early basal cell carcinoma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Non healing lesion: Basal cell carcinoma is a skin lesion defined as a small then progressively enlarging skin lesion that scabs and then the scab falls off and the ulcer still is unhealed. I treat all such lesions with EFUDEX (fluorouracil) which is 5FU ointment applied daily x 10 followed by 10 days of A&D ointment. complete healing occurs in 90% of cases. At times surgical resection works somewhat better or if not MOHs paste.
