A member asked:

What to do about ear surgery ( otoplasty) info?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This is cosmetic: There are few functional indications for pinning ears back (otoplasty). There are no medical concerns for forward ears. This is essentially a cosmetic concern/operation. The risks are low but not zero. Other than anesthetic concerns for your overall health, the most serious complication following otoplasty is cartilage infection which is difficult to treat but asymmetry/relapse are more common.
