True puberty: Cpp is what happens when the pituitary gland starts to secrete lh and FSH which stimulate the ovaries or testes to make hormones which cause breast development in girls or testicular enlargement in boys. Central puberty: This term refers to the early turning on of the brains signals to the gonads. The area of the brain which signals puberty is called the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. This is distinguished from "peripheral" puberty due to adrenal, testicle, or ovarian disorders.
