Labs tests: That can be a difficult diagnosis to make. It requires some routine blood tests. It may sometimes require some more complex blood after after taking an injection of a medicine. And it always requires your doctor to do a physical exam and maybe an ultrasound to look for specific reasons.

Blood work: Peripheral precocious puberty (gonadotrophin independent) is easily distinguished from central precocious puberty with blood tests. Genetic testing is also available to help determine certain causes.
