Dr. Joram Seggev answered

Dust mite allergy: Mites can cause nasal and skin allergy and asthma in susceptible allergic patients. Relative humidity of less than 50% in the house is crucial to reduce mite infestation. Dry heat in winter and A/C in summer are usually effective. No leaking faucets or water pipes. No swamp coolers! No pets in bedroom. Special encasing of pillows and bed covers may be unnecessary in Phoenix. See www.aaaai.org
