Unlikely: It's likely that you have an ear infection. Allergy might increase the risk of getting ear infection by causing dysfunction of the natural ear draining mechanism. However when one ear is red and hot like you describe, you might need to see a local physician to be looked at to rule out infection and get proper treatment.
